Established in 1994 F.A.S.T was set up to supply affordable second-hand furniture and white goods to the most vulnerable members of the community.

We aim to provide a complete range of domestic furniture and other

household items in good working order.

Since opening we have helped thousands of families and individuals whilst at the same time recycling tons of furniture which otherwise would be discarded in landfill sites.

How we operate

We have two long wheel based Luton vans to collect donations of furniture from Central and South London. We charge £5 for furniture collections with an additional £8 charged if collection is within the congestion charge zone. Areas we cover include Westminster, Southwark, Wandsworth & Lambeth although we will go further a field if the collection is too good to miss. Please note that acceptance of donations is at the discretion of the driver who may refuse unsuitable items.

We operate on a referral basis only. Our client group are referred to us via various organisations such as social services and charities. They should be in receipt of low income or social benefits. Many of our clients consist of people moving into permanent accommodation for the first time. Such as;

·        Young single parent(s)

·        Refugees & Asylum Seekers

·        People leaving rehab centres (e.g. for substance use issues)

·        People with a history of mental health issues

·        Those leaving hospital after a long illness

·        Women escaping domestic violence

·        Ex offenders

·        Homeless

Many of our clients are provided with unfurnished tenancies and could struggle to practice independent living due to their situations. Choosing a cooker and installing it, for example, can sometimes be a huge stumbling block. At F.A.S.T. we guide them towards the essential items needed to furnish a new home and hopefully ease their path to a more positive way of life.
